Jordanian Association of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Elects New Board

The General Assembly of the Jordanian Association of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers (JAPM) has unanimously elected a new Board of Directors. The newly elected board includes:

  • Dr. Khaled Harb, President, representing Dar Al Dawa Development & Investment Co.
  • Dr. Fadi Al-Atrash, Vice President, representing Amman Pharmaceutical Industries Co.
  • Mr. Masoud Abdul Majeed, Secretary General, representing Hikma Pharmaceuticals
  • Dr. Maher Al-Kurdi, Treasurer, representing Hayat Pharmaceutical Industries Co.
  • Dr. Zaid Azzam, Board Member, representing United Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Co.

According to a statement issued by the Association on Sunday, the General Assembly, during its 30th Annual Ordinary Meeting held Sunday 5th April 2026, approved the financial statements and the annual report for the past year, and appointed the certified external auditor for the current year.

Dr. Khaled Harb, President of the Association, emphasized the importance of Jordan’s pharmaceutical industry in supporting the national economy. He highlighted its key role in ensuring drug security, reducing healthcare costs in the Kingdom, creating employment opportunities for Jordanians, increasing export volumes, and expanding access to global markets, with exports reaching nearly 80 countries worldwide.

For her part, Secretary General of the Association, Dr. Hanan Sboul, noted that the pharmaceutical industry is one of the leading industrial sectors and a key driver of growth under the Economic Modernization Vision for the next decade. She added that the vision focuses on positioning Jordan as a regional hub for pharmaceutical manufacturing, enhancing research and development, and expanding the production of biological medicines to increase pharmaceutical exports. She also emphasized that the Association works in full coordination and alignment with both public and private sector stakeholders to achieve these goals.

Dr. Sboul also commended the efforts of the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) in supporting the pharmaceutical sector, particularly through policies aimed at serving national interests, such as accelerating the registration of Jordanian medicines, which contributes to boosting pharmaceutical exports and positively impacts sector development.
